Concert Bands

     Each student will be assigned to one of two concert bands when they enroll.  During the fall of the school year, each student will perform as a member of the Green Brigade, North High School's award-winning marching band.   After marching season (end of October), concert season begins with both bands preparing music for the November tours to the North feeder schools and also for the North District Instrumental Music Festival, which is held in December. In December and January, students may prepare solos and ensembles for the ISSMA District and State Solo and Ensemble Contests. There are two second semester concerts - one in mid April, the other in May. The Concert Bands also perform for special school functions and Commencement.  Selected students also perform with the strings to form a full orchestra for special events and also for the spring musical in March.

Jazz Ensemble

The jazz ensemble is organized after marching season. This group will rehearse one evening a week. Big band literature and improvisation techniques will be discussed. Performances will be determined by the members.

Additional Ensembles

There are several opportunities through the year for special ensembles of various instrumentation to perform. These are arranged as the event dictates.
